PRESENTATION.The Official Master in Sports Law of the University of Lleida (UdL) organized by the INEFC (National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia) and the Faculty of Law of the UdL, has been AUTHORIZED by the competent academic institutions (Catalonian Government) as OFFICIAL degree for any academic and professional purposes within the new configuration of official postgraduate degrees adapted to the EHEA (European Higher Education Area), following the Bologna model and recognized by public bodies as a degree with official academic validity for the whole Spain. With the experience of having organized and carried our successfully for the last 14 years the Master in Sports Law (as Degree from the University of Lleida) and in its latest tree years as Official Master, now make a new step forward and offer the Master to all of Latin America. During these years it has permitted that more than 200 professionals from several countries have been trained in this major within Law. Also, the experience of having organized for the last 12 years the PhD programme in Sports Law at the same University gives us the possibility of doing a STEP FORWARD IN QUALITY to keep going on with the consolidation of a rigorous instruction within Sports Law and we offer a unique way for all of Latin America through a model of academic organization that allow access to all lawyers interested in the subject of Latin American area, bringing the training to their countries. Following directions of EHEA, the Master presents two different alternatives. Students can follow the itinerary (major) ‘Professional’ focused mainly on professional work in Sports Law. By the other side, the itinerary (major) ‘Research’ is focused on continuing the instruction by means of research. This major leads the possibility of doing PhD studies. The training addresses every facet of law related to the sport, while the areas of public law and private law. The Master is organized part time to combine following the studies with professional activities for each participant. Thus, the Master is developed in two academic years, 4 semesters. Thanks to the diversity of students and the teaching staff, the collaboration of several Spanish Universities and sport organizations we can develop modules concentrated in four cities. The Master is developed over 2 years the student must attend the 4 modules face (2 each academic year) to be developed in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City and Lleida in Spain. OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTRUCTION1. To offer a specialized programme in Sports Law adapted to the new exigencies of Spanish University System models of postgraduate instruction as well as EHEA (European Higher Education Area). 2. To correspond the current needs of sports phenomenon, including the specialization of professionals in specific areas in Sports Law. 3. To offer two different majors. One focused on professional work steered to inclusion to the job market and the other focused on research steered to the students who want to do the PhD. 4. To offer knowledge and researching techniques enough to understand the peculiarities of applying law in sports areas. 5. To offer thorough instruction to several legal approaches to sports phenomenon from both public law and private law. 6. To approach the students to the legal reality of sports organizations and athletes. |
